FAQ
How did you get started?
I've always sculpted as a hobby and am completely self taught. In April of 2010 I decided I wanted to finally try my hand at selling my work. I started posting things on etsy and DA and veeery slowly people started noticing. My first couple of years relied heavily on commission work.
How are you so popular? I just started making sculptures too but nobody notices or buys them?
It took well over two years before I was actually getting fulltime work with decent pay. It took a TON of hard work. I sold my work for far less than I should have, because I needed customers. I also did a few shows, to get some exposure by handing out business cards. I made things as often as I could, posted often, and made sure it was very clear I was open for commissions. I posted links on everything. You have to make it easy for people to find the info they need! I posted mainly on etsy and DA, then made a fanpage on facebook very late in the game. Probably sh

I'll start this out with saying that I do not usually critique artwork, but I want to get into it. Anyway, I really like the sunset. Th...

Commission Thoughts/Get Featured

Journal Entry: Thu Apr 11, 2013, 12:53 PM
Okay, so I know I don't have many watchers or anything, but I'd really like to give back to my supporters. So, if you're a watcher of mine, comment below and I will maybe do a feature journal of some of your stuff. ^_^

*Commissions*
One thought I've been having lately is that maybe I should be doing commissions. However, i don't currently have my own credit card so I can't get a paypal. Plus, i am not 100% positive that people would even like to commission me. Therefore, I was just seeing what people's thoughts were. So, if anyone does do commissions please answer these questions. And if you're interested in me doing a commission for you, please note me and I'll happily consider.

Questions:
When did you decide to start commissioning?
When do you have people pay for their piece?
What do you use to charge people?
Do you recommend having a Premium membership before trying commissions?
What made you decide to do commissions?

I'm glad you took the time to visit my page! ^_^ I'm an artist and believe it or not I'm still in high school. But I hope you put that aside and view me as and adult and an artist like anyone else. That is what is important to me. My art means so much to me and I truly love sitting down with a blank canvas and brush. I hope to go to college for animation and continue traditional art as a side thing. I'm a realist in the sense that I don't want to be a starving artist. But that's why I'm choosing animation ^_^ Just an offshoot of the real thing. I will always be creative and artistic as long as I can. More than anything, I don't believe art is a talent you're born with. In fact, I don't look at it as a talent at all. I view art as a language. Some people can speak it fluently, some struggle. It's something that you have to practice and use over and over until you can master it. I think that, yes, some people are more adapted to learn how to be creative, but I do not think that it is limited to those choice people. Anyone can learn how to draw well, it just takes determination and motivation.
